It’s the happiest time of the year, and we don’t mean the Starlight celebration.
It’s the AetherHunts slaughter of the B-Rank Naul, who resides in Coerthas Central Highlands.
For those unaware, most S-Rank spawners take part in “mapping”. In short, when an S-Rank dies, it immediately picks a new point on the map to spawn next time. To cut down on the guesswork, you can kill the B-Rank and A-Rank(s) marks to narrow down what spot the S-Rank will spawn at. With the game’s growth, so has Square Enix’s philosophy on how they design the maps and the hunts that spawn on them. While maps in more recent expansions may have from as little as 5 spawn points, some ARR S-Ranks can boast as many as 20 possible spawn locations. What makes Naul (and Safat by proxy) so special? It is the mark who is second to none in total possible spawn locations in Coerthas Central Highlands with 59 possible spawn points.
As such, some of Aether’s more enthusiastic mappers have taken it as a challenge. It is a concerning point of pride to earn the role of “Safat Mapper” within AetherHunts. This year was our second year of hosting Naulvember, where we gather as many people as possible with the intention of seeing how fast Safat can be mapped before it spawns.
Organized by our Admin Lilaea Cilaeno 🌸 Faerie and organized by H*nter Rhiki Chill ⚔ Sargatanas, bets were made to see what spot Safat would spawn at, as well as how long it would take to map Safat. The finals results?
