How do I find where the train is currently?

Try using one of these methods to find the train’s current location.

• Type ‘ /sea [name] first/last all ‘ into your FFXIV chat bar. Replace [name] with the name of the conductor.

EXAMPLE: Conductor is Specter Saruu @ Jenova. You would type ‘ /sea first specter ‘. This will pull up player search and show you her current location and by extension the train’s location.

• Use Party Finder.

Some conductors will have a permanent party finder up for the duration of train. Open party finder (can type /partyfinder into your FFXIV chat bar) and navigate to The Hunt tab. NOTE: Not every conductor will have a locator beacon party finder up.

We should add that occasionally you will see the conductor has a PF up with a Blue Mage (BLU) slot locked to where you cannot join. This is so it is always up in PF and people can see what zone the train is currently in.

• Use Player Search.

Just like the /sea method you can manually navigate to player search to search for the conductor and see their current location. Social menu -> player search -> search conditions -> type in conductor’s name. See image attached.

How do I know when the next train is?

Some servers have their schedule and/or other useful information about how they run trains on their world in the pins. You can find the pins in the top right corner on desktop as pictured in the first image.

The pins on the PC version of discord are in the top right corner near the search bar.

The second image on mobile, where you would hit the icon of the little guys and then pins will be there on the side. These schedules are not shared with people not on their world.

On the Discord app, the pins can be found by tapping on the symbol of two people in the top right, and finding pins in the pop out menu.

Not all worlds have a schedule though. Keep an eye out on your local train announcement channel, as well the as the crossworld train announcement channel. You can also take a look at trackers to see when hunts are up. But just because hunts are up, does not mean someone is around to run the train.

How do I get max credit/rewards for hunts?

Join a party written in large 2000s Wordart.

Hunt rewards are enmity based, not damage based. Join a party, have tanks that have tank stance on. You can also help if you have healers spamming party heals as well.

How do I change my name/update my world?

Head to our name change channel! Simply send the command as if you’re registering again and the bot will update. [Link] (This link will open discord in browser)

I signed up for the roles, but I get notifications late on my mobile device. What gives?

Unfortunately, this is a discord limitation we have 0 control over. It is a common occurrence that large servers like ours do not send out mobile toast notifications as soon we’d like due to Discord limitations. At this point in time, AetherHunts is well over 45,000 hunters strong. Though it is out of our control, we still apologize for the inconvenience.

What can we do about early pullers?

Historically, reporting to SE has been ineffective, as seen by trolls who have been around for several years. But we will no longer as a unit tell people their reports are in vain. Individual staff may have different opinions, however.

If you feel someone who is breaking our rules by early pulling has flown under our radar, you are welcome to send in a mod ticket with (preferably) video proof. Action in the discord is taken with people who break our rules, but this will not stop them from early pulling in the game, as there are other ways to get hunt information. Please understand there will always be more hunts.

What are Instances? How do I switch Instances?

When Square Enix expects there to be a lot of players to be online at once, they will force “Instances” in overworld zones. Similar to how going into a dungeon or raid is an “instance”, an instance in these cases are separate “versions” so-to-speak of that zone. This prevents too many people trying to squeeze in one zone in the same instance, at the same time, putting stress on player systems and the servers as well.

In order to switch to a different Instance:

Go to an aetheryte in the zone, and make sure you target it.

Bring up the submenu by either right clicking or w/e console players do.

Select “Travel to Instanced Area”.

A second menu will pop up. From here, select whatever instance it is you need to travel to. “No preference” will simply drop you in any of the instances.

Tip: If you are trying to find a train in an instanced area, see which of the instances has the largest grouping of people. The train is most likely there!

During exceedingly high times of traffic such as a new expansion release, Instances will have numbers in the hundreds. From observation, 600 seems to be the hard cap of amount of people allowed in one instance, though it starts to slow down on who’s let in around 300.

When a zone is instanced, each instance has its own hunts as well. That means when a new expansion drops, when 6 zones have 3 instances each, there are 18 S-Ranks and 36 A-Ranks in total, per world. This is a prime time to get a lot of hunts very quickly if you can.
