Like any part of FFXIV, each little sub community comes with it’s own terms, lingo, and jargon. To help make this more accessible, we’ve compiled some common terms you’ll see in the hunt community the world over. Keep in mind that some terms are interchangeable with others.
Text Chat Commands
<pos> – Short for position. Using this command will link the exact spot your character is standing/flying at in game. This command is commonly used in scouting macros. If someone asks “What’s your pos?” you can respond with this command as clicking on it will give a flag of your location.
<flag> – This command will link the last flag you have looked at in game. This is used in relay macros for all kinds of hunts.
<t> – Short for target. This will write the name of whatever you are currently targeting, whether it is a mob, a player, or an object. This is often used in relay or scouting macros.
<thpp> – Target Hit Point Percent. How much health the target has.
<mpp> – Mana Point Percent. How much mana target has left.
Acronyms
TOD – Time of Death. This refers to the time when the hunt was killed. Keeping track of TODs lets scouters/conductors/spawners know when hunts will spawn again.
CW – Short for cross world. Refers to things not on your home server.
LS – Short for Linkshell.
CWLS – Short for Cross World Linkshell.
PT – Pull Time, though it can also mean “party” depending on context. This is usually shouted in zone after a hunt has been relayed to let people on the way know when the hunt will be pulled.
PF – Short for Party Finder.
ET/EzT – Eorzean Time, aka in game time. Pull Times are usually done in Eorzean Time.
LFG – Short for Looking for Group. This person is wanting to be invited to a party. Not to be confused with Let’s F**king Go.

SHB/5.0 – Shadowbringers

Relay/Relink (Verb) – To share the hunt in your linkshells so that it can be killed.

Conductor (Noun) – The person who has all the flags and leads the the train.
Local(s) – This refers to people on the same server. A train on Jenova posted locally would only be posted where people from Jenova can see it.
“Vibe” – The conductor will link a spot on the map for people to wait so that people can teleport and everyone has a chance of getting to the hunt. This is good for people with slow loading consoles/computers.
“Bullet Train” – The conductor will not be vibing, will most likely not slow down for congestion, and will call one mark after the next. This is good for people who want to go fast, and also have fast loading systems.
